CLARISSA ZHANG is a Shanghai-based independent producer and director with a degree in scriptwriting and directing from the Shanghai Film Academy. An alumna of Berlinale Talents and Talents Tokyo 2021, her producer credits include DEAD PIGS (dir. Cathy Yan, Special Jury Award at Sundance 2018) and National Geographic Channel’s documentary series ROUTE AWAKENING (dir. Sohkiak Chang, Asian Television Award).
 

As a director, her short documentary SHANGHAI QUARANTOPIA was screened at the Ji.hlava International Festival Short Joy 2023.

Currently, she's producing director Baer Xiao's feature film THE SILENT FIRE (Golden Horse FPP 2025) and co-producing director Michelle Zhou‘s feature film BIG LITTLE THINGS (Far East Focus Asia in Progress and Golden Horse WIP project 2025).
