CLARISSA ZHANG is a Shanghai-based independent producer/director with a degree in scriptwriting and directing from Shanghai Film Academy of Shanghai University, and an alumna of Berlinale Talents and Tokyo Talents. Her producer work credits include DEAD PIGS (dir. Cathy Yan, Special Jury Award at Sundance 2018), and National Geographic Channel’s documentary series ROUTE AWAKENING (dir. Sohkiak Chang, Asian Television Award).

Currently, she’s developing her directorial debut feature documentary WHEN CLOUDS GATHER (selected at HAF, Docs by the Sea, and IDFA Producer Connection) and FADING YOUTH WITH FRESCO (dir. Li Zhe, selected at Pitching du Réel of Visions du Réel 2020), ALMOST THERE (dir. Baer Xiao, selected at Shanghai International Film Festival projects and Talents Tokyo).
